Our Story
Psyck Discussion Podcast is a podcast released once a week through YouTube, Apple Podcast, Spotify, and all other streaming platforms. Hosted by Reggie_SoDope, Marvin (Suave Marv) Harris, and Devin Moore. It covers many topics ranging from dating to developing friendships, but primarily focuses on mental health and ways pop culture/social media affects our mental health.
The show began in early 2017, originally hosted by Motivational Artist Reggie Bates, Marvin Harris, and Shelby Stanley. They recorded an entire season and all the audio got lost in cyberspace. The group went through 3 other roster changes from late 2017-2020. They finally produced season 1 with Reggie, Marvin, Devin, and Sam. The content of the podcast was described as "mental health awareness and sophisticated ignorance". For the first year of its existence, the show’s format consisted of releasing episodes in seasons (11 episodes total) at an average run time of 30–60 mins (audio and single framed visuals). After Season 1, Psyck Discussion would see another shift in the roster; going from 4 hosts to just 3.
With the release of Season 2, the show switched to a new video format set in Devin’s home studio. Shortly after this, the show's run time switched from 11 episodes a season to 13, featuring double the guest episodes compared to season 1. The episodes continued to range from 30-60mins per episode. Psyck Discussion Podcast continues to record in season to best accommodate the hosts other commitments as well as allowing time for analyzing and improving the podcast. Episodes are released on Thursdays for 13 weeks straight from Late Winter-Early Spring and Summer-Fall.
